Gaza Aid Centers Become Killing Grounds as Civilians Face Growing Peril

At least 30 Palestinians were killed and 120 injured after Israeli forces opened fire at a U.S.-funded aid distribution point in Rafah, located in southern Gaza. The victims had gathered in hopes of receiving essential humanitarian supplies but were instead caught in a deadly assault that has shocked the region.

The Gaza Government Media Office condemned the attack, declaring that such distribution centers have effectively become “mass death traps.” According to officials, this latest incident raises the number of people killed at aid sites to at least 39 in under a week. More than 220 individuals have been wounded at these locations.

Authorities in Gaza accused Israel of intentionally weaponizing humanitarian assistance to draw civilians into danger. The media office claimed that these relief points are being manipulated to serve military goals, and said the U.S. shares blame by supporting and financing such operations without accountability.

Meanwhile, ceasefire negotiations between Hamas and Israel remain tense and unresolved. Hamas has pushed for changes to a U.S.-proposed agreement, seeking lasting peace and complete Israeli withdrawal. However, U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff dismissed their response as “unacceptable,” further complicating hopes for de-escalation.

The violence at supposed aid zones has raised alarm among humanitarian groups operating in Gaza. Many fear these targeted attacks will make it impossible to deliver supplies safely to those in need. As a result, thousands remain without access to basic food, water, and medical care.

With diplomacy stalling and civilian deaths mounting, the international community faces growing calls to step in. Gaza’s humanitarian crisis is rapidly spiraling, and unless immediate action is taken, experts warn that more lives will be lost under the guise of relief efforts.
